NMStar Entity Relationships

Programs, projects, providers, locations… how do they all relate? What is the hierarchy? Can a single project be associated with more than one program? Can a single provider contain multiple locations?

Programs and Projects

Programs contain projects. Projects contain approved services.

The diagram to the right depicts these relationships.

The same relationships (program-project-approved services) are depicted in the diagram to the left - this time, using specific/real-world examples.

Providers and Locations

Providers contain locations. Locations ‘participate’ in projects.

The diagram to the right depicts these relationships.

The same relationships (provider-location-participating projects) are depicted in the diagram to the left - this time, using specific/real-world examples.

Budget Groups and Fund Sources

Budget Groups are used to distinguish State General Funds and Federal Funds. Budget Groups contain Fund Sources.

Fund Sources are budgets for programs and projects.

The diagram to the right depicts these relationships.

The same relationships (Budget Groups-Fund Sources) are depicted in the diagram to the left - this time, using specific/real-world examples.

Fund Sources and Allocations

The diagram to the right depicts these relationships.

The same relationships (Fund Sources-Allocations) are depicted in the diagram to the left - this time, using specific/real-world examples.
