A Plan of Safe Care can be edited while it is in a “Pending” Status by the Hospital creator of the plan and before it has been submitted to an MCO. Care Coordinators cannot edit a Plan of Safe Care.
Step 1
Locate the Plan of Safe Care on your Plans of Care list and click the Edit Icon.
Step 2
Resume filling out all sections of the Plan of Safe Care.
More Information Needed
Sometimes the Plan of Safe Care will require additional information, based on an answer you provide. For example, in the Support Services section, you’ll need to provide details about any services marked “Yes” as shown below:

When all the fields have been filled out correctly, your form will be saved, and the “Complete” option will appear at the bottom right of the question card. Click “Complete” to complete the Plan of Safe Care.
Step 4
The system will return you to the Plans of Care screen and generate a PDF of the completed Plan of Safe Care. To view and print the Plan of Safe Care, locate the Plan of Safe Care you just created and click the Download Icon.
Step 5
When you have reviewed the Plan of Safe Care and are ready to submit, click the Submit Icon. Select the MCO, enter any free text Additional Comments, and click Submit. The MCO Manager will receive an email notification.
